Teams Meeting

The La Crosse Police Department teaches the Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE), which encompasses the Avoid, Deny, Defend strategy. This is a proven plan that provides options for surviving an active threat event. The model is based on the concepts of remaining vigilant in your environment, trusting your instincts, and employing a course of action with the intention of preserving life.

During this coffee chat, attendees will:

  • Understand the options available to you when experiencing an active threat event.
  • Determine through introspection what response fits your respective situation and abilities.
  • Understand how law enforcement responds to such events and how we can best assist each other in preserving life.
