Women's health—including pelvic health conditions, postpartum recovery, and perimenopause/menopause—affects a significant portion of the workforce, yet these experiences often go unrecognized and undiscussed in workplace settings. As a women's health physical therapist, I am not coming to provide HR expertise or tell organizations what their policies should be, but rather to offer insight into the normal life stages, physical changes, and health experiences many employees navigate throughout their careers and how they can influence well-being, engagement, and productivity.
During this meeting, the speaker will help us:
- Describe common women's health concerns—including pelvic floor dysfunction, postpartum recovery, and menopause-related symptoms—and how they may affect employees at different life stages.
- Recognize the impact these often-invisible health conditions can have on workplace experiences, productivity, engagement, and retention.
- Identify opportunities to foster a workplace culture where employees feel safe seeking support for health-related concerns
More about the Speaker:
Dr. Jill O’Brien, PT, DPT is a pelvic health physical therapist, business owner, and women’s health advocate dedicated to helping people better understand and support their bodies across all stages of life. Through her clinical work, she treats conditions such as pelvic floor dysfunction, postpartum recovery, and menopause-related changes—issues that are common, often overlooked, and highly relevant to the working population.
Jill’s approach is grounded in education, practicality, and normalization. Rather than medicalizing everyday experiences, she focuses on increasing awareness and reducing stigma so individuals can better recognize what’s normal, when to seek care, and how to advocate for themselves. She is especially interested in helping bring these conversations into more everyday settings, including the workplace, through practical, common-sense approaches that support dignity and access.
